Janet Konyer earned her Masters of Science in Immunology and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Guelph. After spending several years employed as a research associate and training horses in her off time, Janet is now the full-time trainer and owner of Lookout Farm. Lookout Farm is family owned and operated, located near the rural village of Belwood, ON. Janet, husband Blair Greenly, and children, Ben, Allison and Eve, all help with the daily operation and management of Lookout Farm.
Janet is an FEI level rider and has successfully bred, raised, and trained her horse, Centaur LF up to and including the Grand Prix level in dressage. Janet and Centaur LF have enjoyed success at both the national level and at CDI competitions. This achievement was not without the help and guidance of Nancy Maclachlan, whom Janet has been training with for years, as well as working as her assistant since 2017. Janet is currently working with another homebred LF horse, Dionysus LF, in advanced level dressage, with sights aimed again at the Grand Prix ring. Dionysus LF will be the third LF-bred horse that Janet has produced and developed to the FEI level of competition.
The focus of Lookout Farm is breeding and training. We produce well-bred foals each year from elite European stallions and mares which are either imported or of European bloodlines. Our dams are carefully matched with quality stallions to produce top quality competition horses, with utmost attention paid to temperament and rideability.
Our training program includes starting young horses and development up to and including advanced level of dressage. All of our youngsters are cross-trained, and hacking, jumping, caveletti, and pole-work is a part of the regular schooling and training of our horses at all levels.
At Lookout Farm, we pride ourselves in taking the time to produce confident, well mannered horses that are successful in their chosen discipline. Several LF horses have been sold internationally and we have many repeat buyers.
